PIPPIN has a strong steel casing with 24 buttons on top. The buttons are colour-coded for function. Keypresses give audible and visual
cues as well as a tactile "click". The pitch of the cue for numbers is different for each number.
There is an LED on the top surface, a charging socket on the front and a switch on the side. There is a 12mm hole all the way through
PIPPIN midway between the wheels.

There are also 10 digit keys labelled with 0-9 for entering
the amount of an action.
If PIPPIN understands a keypress it will beep and flash the light. If there is a syntax error, such as entering a command when it expects a number, it grumbles and does not flash the light.
When PIPPIN is running a program, any keypress does an "emergency stop".
