Loading and saving whole programs

As the PIP simulator runs on a proper computer, there is plenty of storage space on the computer for your PIP programs. The and buttons allow you to do this. Before you save a file make sure that you have given the program (and yourself!) a name.

When you save a file, the simulator first tries to put it in the folder of your name. If there is no folder already, it will make one. The folders are put in the C:\swallow\pip\programs folder. The standard Microsoft dialogue is used to confirm the filename. You can navigate to a different directory if you wish to.

When you load a file, the simulator first looks in your directory. The standard Microsoft dialogue is used to confirm the filename. You can navigate to a different directory if you wish.

If you haven't already saved your program when you come to load it, you will get a warning message to try and save you from losing your work.

If you want to delete files from the system, you should use the Windows facilities to remove them. Click on My Computer and navigate to the C;/swallow\pip\programs folder. You can right click on individual folders and select delete to remove them or you can enter the individual folders and delete particular PIP programs. Leave the defaults folder alone or you will remove the defaults program.
